Peavy Arboretum is always a great place to hike any time of year. The trails are well maintained and there are many different routes of varying lengths to choose from. Some portions of the trails are deep in the trees, others out in the open. The Arboretum is a great place for a picnic or just a walk in nature where, regardless of the season, you and your pet and/or family can find some beauty. Oregon State University has a large research area which is based at Peavy. There are facilities where you can rent a hall, for an occasion or covered area to enjoy some food/beverage. It is a great place with fun trails to hike, animals to observe, and a beautiful scenery while also learning about trees. Maps are available online and at the trailheads so you can plan out your day!
