President Debbie Boothe-Schmidt, Chair of the Sunset Empire Transportation District (SETD) Board, announced that she received the resignation of Executive Director Jeff Hazen on May 2, 2023. Boothe-Schmidt also announced that Paul Lewicki has accepted the position of Interim Executive Director in the district. Lewicki previously served on the District Board and was previously employed in the district as Director of Operations. Chairwoman Boothe-Schmidt has also confirmed that the district will receive a loan from the Oregon Department of Transportation for $505,000 that will initially be used to restart Paratransit services in the county next week and begin reduced regular route service as soon as possible.
