Sunset Empire Transportation District (SETD) offers the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Paratransit services to persons with disabilities or with conditional or temporary disabilities that cannot access or utilize fixed route bus services within the designated route service areas. Those seeking Paratransit services are required to complete an application to determine eligibility. Paratransit Services are curb to curb and vehicles are wheelchair accessible and comparable to the existing SETD bus services being operated within the designated service area. Individuals certified with conditional eligibility are encouraged to use regular fixed route bus service whenever possible.

Service Information
Availability of Paratransit services are the same days and times as SETD’s fixed route bus service; excluding commuter routes. All trips must have an origination and destination within ¾ of a mile of the fixed route.
Scheduling a Paratransit Trip
Trip requests are made by calling RideAssist at 503-861-7433 (Option #2).
Trips must be scheduled at least one day in advance.
Reservations may be made longer in advance for many trips, such as medical appointments.
Subscription service (standing order) is available for riders who travel to and/or from the same location on a regular basis.
Pick up and drop off times may be scheduled within a service window of 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after a specific time.
Passengers are asked to be ready for vehicles, which may arrive up to 15 minutes early.
Service Fares
The fare for the ADA Paratransit service is twice (2x) the fixed route fare.
You will be reminded of the fare when your Paratransit trip is scheduled.
Service Accommodations
If you require an escort or personal care attendant (PCA) to assist you in traveling, no fare is charged for the PCA, but the person must travel to and from the same location as you do.
Service animals and mobility aids will also be accommodated.
Cancellations, Missed Rides, and No Shows
Canceled trips are costly so passengers should contact the RideAssist as soon as possible when canceling a trip.
Ridership privileges may be suspended due to a pattern of missed or no-show appointments (3 trips in a 30 day period).
Ridership privileges can also be suspended due to unruly behavior, which may or may not threaten the safety of others.
