Executive Director Jeff Hazen regrets to announce that due to the severe driver shortage SETD is experiencing, he will be making a recommendation to the Board of Commissioners that will make significant cuts to public transportation services that the District provides. The driver shortages are not unique to SETD, this shortage is affecting transportation providers in all sectors across the nation.
The following routes will be proposed for suspension effective September 6, 2021:
Route 17 Cannon Beach weekdays
Route 21 Cannon Beach weekends
Route 13 Astoria weekends
Route 16 Warrenton weekends
Seaside Streetcar weekends
Route 15 Warrenton weekdays will only operate during the morning from 5:50am – 9:03 am and evening 5:30pm – 8:43 pm
Route 101 will be cut from four buses per day to two with frequency approximately one hour
In addition, each route will be shut down for an hour during each shift for the driver’s lunch break.

This recommendation will be made at the August 26th Board meeting held at 9:00am on Zoom.
