Sunset Empire Transportation District is hiring a financial officer/grant administrator.

Required Duties:

  • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; collaborate financial reporting materials for all grant segments, and oversee all internal, project/program and grants accounting.
  • Manage a robust fund financial management system, including chart of accounts, classes, loan and project tracking.
  • Buy-in management of all agency accounting functions.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting.
  • Implement and oversee financial and contract/grants management policies and procedures; improve overall financial policies and procedure manual.
  • Effectively communicate and present the financial matters to the Executive Director, leadership team, and Board of Commissioners.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors; assess any changes necessary.
  • Lead and manage the District’s annual budgeting and financial planning process in coordination with the Budget Officer; administer and review all financial plans and departmental budgets; continuously monitor financial performance; and provide regular, data-driven financial status updates to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
  • Implement special projects in accounting, contracting, contract and grants management as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant federal, state and local governmental laws, regulations, policies, procedures, contracts and agreements.
  • Management and supervision of all accounting functions.

Pay: 

$72,166 to $79,844 annually

Bus Driver

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a bus or van to transport passengers
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle interior
  • Communicate effectively with passengers
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
  • Manage passenger behavior and ensure a safe environment
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements
  • Experience as a delivery, van or limo driver or motor coach operator is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with passengers
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on passenger safety and satisfaction
  • Ability to navigate using maps or GPS systems effectively
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process
  • Flexibility in working hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays

Mechanic Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Assist mechanics with routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs
  • Remove and replace vaults in buses returning from routes daily
  • Check and maintain fluid levels, tires, lights, and other essential vehicle components
  • Perform oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and other basic services
  • Help diagnose, troubleshoot and report mechanical issues under supervision
  • Prepare vehicles for inspection, cleaning, and testing after maintenance
  • Keep bays, tools and equipment clean, organized and in safe working condition
  • Maintain inventory of parts, fluids, and supplies; track use and report shortages or needs
  • Assist with proper disposal and cleanup of waste materials such as oil, filters and tires
  • Operate tools, lifts, and equipment safely following shop procedures and training

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of related experience
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL or ability to obtain CDL preferred

  • Reinstatement of seven day a week transit service
  • Added Dial-A-Ride capacity
  • Overall 25%+ service hours increase!
  • Direct Route 3 service to the new Nehalem Bay Health Center in Wheeler
  • 40% more trips on Route 2 (Netarts-Oceanside) and Route 6 (Port of Tillamook Bay)
  • Reinstatement of the 4:55 AM Route 5 roundtrip to/from Portland (transfer to TriMet’s Red Line at Sunset Transit Center in Beaverton for car-free travel to PDX)
