TCTD Seeks to Fill Board Vacancy-Position 1

The Tillamook County Transportation District Board of Directors is seeking candidates to fill the vacant Position 1 seat.

Tillamook County Transportation District Board of Directors consists of seven (7) elected members, each of whom serves a four (4) year term.  Directors receive no compensation, with the exception of some pre-authorized training classes and/or seminars, which include reimbursement for meals and mileage, and a stipend for public meeting attendance.

Commitment for this position includes attending regular business meetings that are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm, as well as budget meetings, special meetings, and workshops called by the Board.

This position’s term expires on June 30, 2025, and the person appointed by the Board of Directors to serve in this position must apply to the District no later than Friday, February 7, 2025.

Executive Director Craig Johnston has announced that the SETD Board of Commissioners has approved Debbie Boothe-Schmidt, as the Interim Executive Director for Sunset Empire Transportation District. Johnston resigned from his position as Executive Director on November 25th. Debbie Boothe-Schmidt will take over as the Interim Executive Director on December 31st, which is Johnston’s last day with the district. Boothe-Schmidt was elected to the SETD Board of Commissioner’s in 2019 and has served as the Board Chair for several years. She will step back from her position as Board Chair temporarily until a new Executive Director is hired, at which time she will return to her position as the SETD Board Chair. Johnston said he will be assisting with 2 meetings in early January to complete a grant application for the district. Boothe-Schmidt also said although the SETD staff and Board are saddened by Johnston’s resignation, the district is doing very well, and she is happy to provide oversight and support of the district’s day-to-day operations.
